Dr. Jennifer Tsung, DVM

Dr. Jennifer Tsung completed her Bachelor of Science degree in 1995 at New York University.  She continued her education at the Royal Veterinary College in London, England, and graduated as a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2001. Dr. Tsung has worked in multiple practices throughout New York City and Hong Kong.  She decided to settle down in Inwood, New York and open the Inwood Animal Clinic in 2008.




Dr. Kevin Shimel, DVM

A native of Queens, New York, Dr. Kevin Shimel graduated from Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1996, and has a BS in Animal Science and Chemistry from ISU as well.  Dr. Shimel has a strong interest in Feline Medicine, and spent several years as a “Caterinarian”.  He has also devoted part of his career to Emergency Medicine. Having practiced in various settings, Dr. Shimel continues to expand his interests as a well-rounded Veterinarian.

Deciding to become a Veterinarian at an early age, he has a lifelong resume of working with pets, to include Kennel Work, Dog Grooming, Shelter Work, Training and Rescue. As an avid participant in AKC Dog Shows and Field Trials, he has shown Borzoi and other purebred dogs for 38 years, and is an internationally known and AKC approved Dog Show Judge and speaker.

As a believer in staying busy, Dr Shimel has 16 years of experience in the restaurant industry and continues to enjoy cooking at home. Between his undergraduate and graduate degrees, he spent 7 years as a Research Chemist. He is also an accomplished photographer with a history of gallery exhibits and speaking engagements showcasing his world travels and photo journalistic images of life on the planet.

Dr. Kirk McConnell, DVM

Dr. Kirk had a passion for animals since a young age. Starting as a naturalist earning badges to working in kennels and volunteering at local shelters, prior to college. This fostered a love for all animals that would only grow with time. After graduating From Lincoln Memorial University in Tennessee he expanded his knowledge by working in a variety of different aspects of the veterinary field. He has recently taken great interest into physical therapy working with the University of TN into becoming CCRP certified in the near future.



Dr. Gabriel Stein, DVM

Dr. Gabriel Stein is known for his love of animals and travel, which has guided his life from the very beginning. Born in Italy and raised in Brooklyn, Dr. Stein spent his early years of childhood in his father’s veterinary clinic where he went on to work as a veterinary technician. Setting his sights on becoming a veterinarian with varied experiences to help others, Dr. Stein earned his BA from Brooklyn College and graduated veterinary school at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Dr. Stein has a strong interest in surgery and internal medicine, and most importantly, the human animal bond.

After practicing internationally and throughout the NYC metropolitan area, Dr. Stein settled into Bergen County, NJ, where he has been dedicated to serving animals in local hospitals for the past 10 years. It is there Dr. Stein has made a home with his wife Cara and their two quirky Devon Rex cats, Benny and Gil. Most recently, Dr. Stein welcomed his first child, which inspired his focus as a father to provide personalized family pet care. With the knowledge that pets are most comfortable in their home environment, and happy pets are healthy pets, Dr. Stein has transitioned his work to house call practice.

Dr. Albert Ahn, DVM

Dr. Ahn graduated from Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine with a DVM degree. Following an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, he completed a small animal medicine residency at Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine Foster Hospital for Small Animals.
